How to Get Prom Hair Styles

by Kelly

A prom is a special event for the teens and is an occasion for them to dress up well and sport an attractive hairstyle. Apart from the typically traditional styles, new prom hair styles are created every year. Remember to choose a hairstyle that suits you the best and enhances your features. A well done prom hairstyle contributes to your beauty and makes you look confident and attractive on the prom night. A prom hairstyle should be such that it is part of your overall makeup, face and dress. It should suit you and you should be able to carry it well. The color and hairstyle is different for each person and cannot be universalized. Hence it is important to plan well and experiment ahead so that you look and feel good with the prom hairstyle you settle for.

Since proms are classical in nature, tradition forms an important norm and hence punk hairstyles are ruled out. Classic prom hairstyles can be created best by professional hair stylists.

Sedu prom hairdos which are the norm with celebrities are widely preferred by the youngsters. In this hairdo after washing the hair it is dried with a hairdryer and then straightened with the help of the Sedu flat iron. This contributes to the sheen and texture of the hair and makes the hair more manageable.

Different prom hair styles can be sported depending on your style and personality. Some women may prefer popular updos. The messy updo is elegant and fresh and is popular with the young Hollywood. This hairdo sports long bangs which are side swept and are colored with rich highlights. The sides are styled towards the centre of the head and fall into cascades down the neck.

The other prom hairstyles can include the traditional bun, the French twist or a more complex form of a pony tail. The others may favor traditional flowing style by leaving it open. This style can be accessorized by various hairpins studded with precious stones or diamonds.

The Half down/Half up prom hairstyle is ideal to show off straight hair. They are quite simple to style and give a formal look without much fuss. The wrap style is another hot prom hair do if you have straight and shiny hair. French braids are also much in demand fro straight hairs.

Different kinds of ponies are also rocking for a prom night. The hair can be tied up in a high ponytail with the help of a jeweled ponytail holder. Few strands of hair can be pulled out to create a spiky and soft look.

The ballerina bun prom hairstyle is elegant and stylish. It is suitable for shoulder length hair while the Nape Knot is sensual and best suited for hair that is below the shoulder length. The knotted hair style suits medium to longer hair length and is a popular prom hairstyle.

A number of styles can be created from the base hairstyles. While grooming the hair into wraps, braids or rolls, the hair can be styled in any direction with the help of pins or blax bands. In addition a lot of jewels and color can be used for creating that magical look.

Britney Donates $25K to the Malaria No More Charity

Out of all the charities selected to benefit from the Idol Gives Back, it was the Malaria No More charity which got Britney Spears contributing for their cause. The Show aired on April 9 saw a whopping $22 million being raised as the total amount. As for Britney, it was the Malaria affected Children in Africa which made her cry for over two hours ultimately making her donate $25,000 but not before taking consent from her father Jamie.

Seems like Britney has finally got her act together as prior to this she was snapped playing with her children and now this. She does owe a lot to her father for helping her regroup herself and she looks to be doing absolutely fine.

Several serious mistakes that could ruin your hair

By: Mary Anne Lionel

Well, all that I learned after I have done the relaxing. Now I know that my stylist made several serious mistakes that ruined my hair and made me cut it really short because of a really great amount of split ends and broken hairs.

Mistake 1: Concentration of relaxing solution

I have fine hair, but as it is really thick it is hard to define the texture and diameter of the separate hair by eye. The girl that was doing my hair paid no attention to the fineness of my hair and applied rather strong solution. As a result, my hair looked over processed and dead in the end.

The good stylist always should study the hair type closely, and define the appropriate concentration of the relaxing solution in order not to harm the hair.

Mistake 2: Time of processing
When the lotion is applied, you hair is left to “cook”. It is important that the time is defined carefully or your hair will suffer great shock and may even dissolve!
For my hair the time was defined badly. After the solution was rinsed out, I saw that my hair was sticking lifelessly in all directions like a hip of hay. I started to think that something was wrong. My sedu hairstyle was gradually fading. I saw it flying away and waving me sorrowfully.

Mistake 3: Incomplete rinsing

Careful and thorough rinsing is particularly important in relaxing. It ensures that you hair suffers no longer and starts recovering from the chemical treatment.
During my relaxing rinsing took approximately 5-7 minutes. It may look enough, but I usually rinse out the shampoo for 10 minutes at least!

So, my hair looked more and more dreadful, and I was thinking longingly about wavy times of my hair. I spent half an hour on flat ironing every day, but at least the hair looked shiny and smooth, but not like great pile of dead strands.
At the long last, when I left the salon looking awful and feeling completely frustrated, I decided that in no way I will do two things again: go to this salon and make a chemical straightening.

After consulting with the stylist in the other salon later that week, I cut my hair short, bought new shampoo and set for chemically treated hair, and ordered sedu flat iron. I’ve decided that if I want to have sedu hairstyle, I should stick to the product that was first to invent it.

Now two months have passed since that terrible experience. My hair has almost recovered and grows healthy and wavy again. I spend nearly an hour for hair care procedures every day, but it’s really worth the effort. At the long last I have sleek and smooth sedu hairstyle, and I pay no attention that it is short.

Choosing a Hair style to Fit Your Face & Personality

By Sarah Freeland

Choosing a hairstyle that is right for you isn’t as easy as it sounds. First you need to select a haircut that fits your face, and then you need to find a hair color that will work well with your natural coloring. In addition to taking into consideration your face shape and skin coloring you also need to think about what hairstyles will reflect your personality and spirit.

When you are selecting a haircut you need to take into consideration what shape your face is. People who have oval faces are very lucky, as this shape offers you the most options. Basically anything will look good on you because your face is already balanced. If you have a round face then you will need to look for haircuts that add height to your face. You do not want to select a cut that will add additional bulk to the center of your face, nor do you want to select a cut that will shorten your face. If you have a long narrow face then you will want to select a cut that will add a little fullness to the center of your face. Shorter cuts will probably be your best option, as longer cuts will exaggerate your features even more.

After you have selected a great hair cut you will next need to select a hair color that will accomplish two things. First it should compliment your natural skin tones. Be careful not to select a shade that is either too light or too dark. Next you will want decide whether you want a natural color or a creative shade. This selection should be based on the type of look you are going for, as well as what color will best reflect your personality and your sense of style.

Sedu Hairstyles for Women: How to style your hair with sedu (IV)

By Lolaness
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5733/
sedu_hairstyles_for_women.html

Sedu Hairstyle Four: Sleek Side-Part

Totally glam, this sleek hairstyle is very popular with the young and trendy woman with a keen sense of fashion. Also easy to achieve in less than 5 minutes, it just might become one of your favorite hairstyles.

Begin with clean, wet hair. Comb styling gel through it, making sure to really evenly disperse the gel from roots to tips.

Blow-dry on high heat and straighten the hair.

Apply a very small amount of pomade or styling wax to the hair for texture. Part your hair to the side, following the 'line' of where the outside corner of your eye is. Starting with the high part at the crown of your head, comb the front section of your hair forward, over your forehead. Use fingertips and a pick or comb to shape the rest of your hair into place, remembering to leave a messy feel to its look.

Best Hairstyle Fashions and Beauty Trends for 2006

Author: David Maillie
Copyright 2006 David Maillie

Hairstyle and beauty has become quite a fashion statement lately. We have seen prices for a good cut or style skyrocket with no end in sight. Some cuts are going in and out of style every day it seems. As some beauty experts say - your hair can make you or break you. What will be the hot styles and beauty cuts for 2006? Some of these will surprise you.

1) The classic up-do. It has been one of the longest trends but seems to be a temporary style - something to do for a social party or event, but not every day. The hollywood stars like Jessica Simpson and many others sport the updo for Awards banquets and such, but they have personal hair stylists that can have their hair back in whatever style they want the following day. This style is best suited for medium or longer length hair.

2) Hair stenciling for uniqueness - this has been hot overseas in Japan, Milan, Paris, and London and is starting to make its way into the U.S. This is where you or a stylist create a stencil which you then attach to your hair and you use glitter and paint to make a bold, brazen fashion statement. Everything from animal prints (like tiger stripes) to symbols have been used. This works on any length hair, but is more predominantly displayed on shorter hair. Stencils have been used frequently lately on Runway models in shows by Gucci, Calvin Klein, etc...

3) The wedge. This was popular in the 1970's and is once again becoming popular. This was the cutesy do that made the likes of Dorothy Hammil America's sweetheart of that era. This style is gaining popularity amongst 30-40 year olds in search of a short and easily maintained style. The wedge tends to draw attention to your face, not your hair and looks natural. So, if you already have a beautiful face and skin this is a real winner, as it will draw people in to your good looks. We recommend natural, mild makeup with this do.

4) The mullet. Yes, I know we thought it died off in the early 90's, but it is making a surge again. No one knows why, except that is is a very low maintanence style - or basically no style. It is basically a mop of hair for head banging music. "Business in the front and party in the back." It has been popping up all over the south and has been seen on the rise even in New York, Chicago, etc... This is a bad style that just won't go away.

5) The Fullet. The female version of the mullet. Just as bad if not worse, but, once again it is making a comeback. Maybe that means the Bangles will make a comeback also? Heavy makeup is common with this do.

6) The flip. The style from the roaring 20's is back as can be seen at the recent awards shows. This style has always been equated with glitz and glamour. It is another easy style and is easy to maintain. The flip goes with almost any makeup regimen. All the stars have worn this do at one time or another - from Jodie Foster to Rita Garbo.

Most of the hairstyles trends for 2006 are comebacks and are easy dos. Basically, people want something that is easy to manage and want variety - a cut that can be easily transformed from one style to another for different events or just for that different look. Women also want a style with easy, light makeup. According to numerous fashion sources these hairstyle and light makeup trends trends will be the big styles of 2006.

How To Choose A Hairstyle That’s Perfect For You

By: Darla Di Grandi-Aguilera

Choosing the perfect hairstyle is just one of those things that elude most women. Sometimes, a gorgeous cut is undermined by the fact that the woman wearing it is too busy to style it properly. Other times, a cut is chosen because of how great it looks on someone else, but ends up looking pathetic on the woman wishing to mimic the style because her hair type and texture is the exact opposite needed to wear the style beautifully.

But not everyone is destined to encountering hairstyle disaster after disaster on their quest for the perfect cut, and neither are you. All it takes is just a little bit of preplanning and consideration to get the perfect hairstyle each and every time you go to the salon. Here are just a few questions that you should ask yourself when changing your style:

· How does the cut or style flatter my face and body shape? Probably the number one mistake that women make when choosing a new style is to choose a style that is unflattering to their features. For example: A swept back style would make a round face look even rounder, but a style that softens up the facial features with a little forward movement can make a round face appear more balanced and oval. Haircuts can also be tailored to draw the eye to your most stunning features and to detract it from those you’d rather hide.

· How much time and effort will I have to put into styling each morning? In today’s hectic-paced world, who has time to burn styling hair? Most of us need a style that is easy to work with and requires little time primping in front of the mirror. Even if you have a style that requires more work, it is likely that you will bypass a majority of the care and maintenance needed for it to look its best on most days. And that could add up to a lot of bad hair days. Instead, choose a style that is easy to work with and compliments your hair’s natural tendencies.

· Will this style work with my hair’s type and texture or work against it? If your hair is limp and straight, choosing a heavily layered style that requires a curling iron or hot rollers every day could get exhausting. Likewise, a sleek, flat style on extremely curly locks could take a lot of effort to maintain. So, try to choose a style that will work with your texture. By doing this, you can have a style that seems to go into place magically with little or no fuss on your part.

· Will this style accommodate my lifestyle? If you have to wear your hair up for your job or if you’re a tomboy who loves to throw on a ball cap, you should consider this before deciding on a hairstyle. After all, who wants to be stuck with a style that they have to curl each and every day when their tendency is to wear it in a pony tail? If you wear your hair up often, be sure to choose a style that will still allow you to do this when the mood or need strikes you.

Choosing the perfect hairstyle does not have to be complicated. Just take a little time to really think about what your needs and wants are, and you should be able to get the style you dream of easily. And the best part is that you won’t regret it once you have it.

How To Choose The Perfect Hairstyles For Your Face

By: Donna Monday

There must be a million and one ways to style our hair.

If you like your hair styled short, there are short hair styles for women, short hairstyles for men, short curly hair styles, short black hair styles, celebrity short hair styles, etc.
If you like your hair styled long, there are long frizzy hair styles, long curly hair styles, long layered hair styles, long braided hair styles, etc.

However, everyone's face shapes are not created equal. Some faces are round, some are thin, some are soft, and some are angular.

Believe it or not, a hairstyle can help to accentuate or draw away from certain facial characteristics.

The following are tips on styles that can make the most of your particular features:

Face Too Round - Putting a side part in the hair will slim and lengthen a face that's too round.
Thin Face - Curls or fullness at the sides will widen a long, thin face.
Large Nose - A full hairstyle or upswept crown makes the nose less noticeable.
Sharp, Angular Features - A wavy or curly hairstyle will soften a chiseled cheekbone, nose or jaw.
High forehead - A horizontal line of full bangs can cover the forehead, balancing the face.
Strong or Square Chin - A short cut with soft curls or fullness at the crown, takes attention away from the chin.
Narrow Chin - Long hair with fullness at the chin will balance a narrow chin.
Low Forehead - Vertical lines and soft fullness at the crown can lengthen the face.

Get the Straight Hair You've Always Wanted

by G.W. Smith
The Sedu Ceramic Hair Straightener is known as the styling tool of the stars. It has been known for creating two of Hollywood's favorite Jennifer's signature hairstyles. The first is Jennifer Aniston of Friends, and the other Sedu user is Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer Aniston, who played the character known as "Rachael" on Friends, created as much buzz about her fashion leading hairstyles as the writers did for their character's quirky storylines. During the last decade, thousands of women flock to their stylists asking for the same haircut. The one thing they didn't know is that after the locks had been layered, Jennifer's style was shaped and fashioned with the Sedu Ceramic Hair Straightener.

Not only has Jennifer Aniston made the Sedu Straightener one of the most sought after hair products but Jennifer Lopez uses it as well. Her hair is naturally curly and wavy, and it is the Sedu that is credited with adding shine and sheen to Jennifer Lopez's curly locks.

The Sedu Straightener has given many women the look and style that they have only dreamed about doing on their own. Now, the secret has been released and demand for this styling tool has increased, making the Sedu Straightener one of the most requested straighteners on the market today.

Sedu: Shine and Shimmer

Naturally curly and wavy hair lacks the luster and sheen that is inherent to straight hair. This may not be a matter of unhealthy hair or the effects of too many chemicals. In fact, it is the natural state of curly or wavy hair to reflect light. The strands are bent and therefore light will bounce off the hair, giving an appearance of dryness.

Straight hair, on the other hand does not reflect light with bent strands, therefore smooth straight hair looks sleek and polished. The Sedu Straightener adds a glaze to the top layer (or cuticle) of the hair shaft, and the result is hair full of shine and shimmer. The Sedu uses Ionic technology to achieve its lustrous effects.

Ionic technology diffuses the positively charged atoms on the hair shaft that cause the hair to lose its luster. By holding the Sedu and sliding it over the hair, the Ionic will diffuse the atoms and create a glossy shine to the hair. This will even cause split ends to be mended back together. Of course, once the hair is wet it will lose the temporary effects from the Sedu Straightener.

However, this is a wonderful way to achieve straight hair without using harsh chemicals that can damage the hair's inner layers. Now, you can wear your hair with the look, feel, shine, and gloss that you have only imagined possible.

Formal hairstyles

Formal hairstyles are not an “every day” look that comes very easy; they are after all, “formal” and those take planning and time.

If you’ve looked through papers and magazines and found a certain look for yourself, you must consider your facial lineament before committing to that style. You should know that, very few women are born with perfect oval shaped faces.

Therefore women should look for formal hairstyles that create the perfect illusion of having that charming oval face structure. Women with round faces need formal hairstyles that supply volume at the crown; this pulls the eye up and makes the face look more oval. If you are a woman with a narrow and long face, opt for formal hairstyles that add volume to the sides with little height.

Tragically Blonde Hairstyles

By Lisa Lach

What would you do to go blonde? Female Fatale, Rebel without a Cause is one determined blonde-haired woman. You see them everywhere and against all natural odds - they are blonde. Sort of. They sit in the stylist's chair with frizzy blonde, black-roots begging for more bleach. Their hair is screaming for moisture. See picture on the left...

For under $20 dollars you could help fix that problem with some products that could actually make your hair blonde, healthy and shinny. Maybe even natural? Blondes do have more fun, but if you are not in the Salon cutting your hair every 3 months, and have dry, damaged hair, don't despair.

Should I blow Dry?

Even if you do not blow dry 100% pure natural hair, it becomes damaged creating split ends, by ingredients like climate, dryness, over highlighting and mostly by avoiding your stylist. If you are using a moistening condition for dry hair, or a re-constructer for damaged hair, should able you to blow-dry just fine. Adding heat from a blow dryer weakens the strands and sometimes it breaks off in extreme cases. So put the proper conditioning treatment in your hair and ask a Salon that has a good reputation to help you find that product that you need.

Conditioner or Re-constructer?

If you have just a few blonde highlights, mixed in with a few other colors, you probably just need a moisturizing conditioner. Try Joico's Moisturizer or K-Pac Daily Conditioner, Redkin's Extreme Shampoo, or Sebastian's Potion 9. If you are heavily blonde, and haven't been dark since you can't remember when, then try bc bonacure's Repair Treatment, one of the best quick fixes out there. It's a honey/wheat protein base to help strengthen the hair. For longer term results try Joico's K-Pack Re-constructer. Both products do a great job.

Lowlights?

Lowlights might be the way to go and can add a lot more moisture to your hair. Lowlights are usually sliced through the other lightening foils to add depth and darken some of your over stressed blonde hair. Giving it a chance to recover and absorb its lacking pigment. The good thing is that you could go more a natural blonde or golden, if you're brave go for a caramel or a darker color. Pick your blonde back up in the summer, after it 's healthy and rejuvenated. You'll look good and feel better.

If you can't live with the idea of adding some lowlights (and they can be dark blonde lowlights) to your platinum do, then let's fix it the easy way. After Blow-drying and assuming you are using your conditioner apply a small amount of Farouk's Bio Silk Therapy. It's silk in a bottle. It will also protect your hair from the damage it sustains without bleaching or blow-drying. The amount of no more then a dime rubs into your hands before you apply the clear less lotion to dry hair. Instantly all your fly away ends and dryness is gone. Until you wash it, of course.

For an extreme shine finish use Joico's Spray Glaze, Shine-Enhancer. It smells nice and really gives a nice shine. Keeping shine, keeps moisture and helps make you condition process that much easier. There's a reason why blondes have more fun! You go girls!

Hair Style Magazines? Dont Waste Money, These Are The Best

It's no secret that there is a lot of misleading beauty advice out there. So, where should you turn for the latest styles, trends and advice? A good place to start is with a leading, reputable hair style magazine or black hair magazine.

When you choose one of the leading hair style magazines or black hair magazines over other publications, you gain access to the latest trends and insider secrets in the beauty industry. No longer will you have to wait until a trend becomes popular and dozens of people are wearing it before you catch on. By subscribing to a hair style magazine, you can keep your eye on the upcoming styles and get them before anyone else.

So, which style magazine should you buy? Here are reviews of five of the leading hair style magazines to aid you in your decision (and details of how you can get them at discounted prices):
" American Salon. American Salon is the leading hair style magazine among professionals. Inside the pages of this magazine are insider trade secrets, trends and techniques that have just been introduced by top-of-the-line beauty professionals. Here you can learn about the latest innovative products and beauty treatments, the newest cutting and color trends, and other tidbits of knowledge at the same time that the professionals do. While this magazine is great to keep informed of all that is going on in the beauty industry, it is not ideal for choosing your next hair cut. Filled with industry jargon and how-to articles, most of the information contained in this hair style magazine would not be fully appreciated by a non-professional. "

Celebrity Hairstyles. If you're looking for all of the hot styles worn in Hollywood, Celebrity Hairstyles could be just the hair style magazine to bring it all together for you. Ever wonder how Hilary Duff and Faith Hill got those softly tousled locks? Wonder no more. Not only is this hair style magazine full of color photos of the latest celebrity styles, it also has technical how-to information that you can take along with you to the salon.

" Hype Hair. When it comes to finding a leading black hair magazine, there is none better than Hype Hair. Called the "the style handbook for today's black woman," Hype Hair features up-to-date innovative hairstyles, interviews, contests and funky fresh hair styles. From the sleek and sedate to the funky and corn rowed, there is a style for everyone in this black hair magazine.

" Modern Salon. This hair style magazine is similar to American Salon in that it caters to professionals only. Featuring the latest trends and interviews with top professionals, Modern Salon takes a fresh and modern look at the beauty industry in its entirety including nails, make-up, hair, color, skin care.

" Short Hair Styles. This is perhaps the hair style magazine and black hair magazine that I have seen brought into the salon most often by clients. The pages of Short Hair Styles are filled with color photos of the latest color and cutting styles. In here, you can find a cut for any texture of hair and ethnicity. From the textured spike to the soft curled, there is really a short style for everyone in this magazine.

In addition to these hair style magazines, there are several women's magazines that offer great hair care advice. Vogue, Glamour and First are just a sampling of the many magazines that feature in-depth hair care articles and advice from top hair care professionals. For many, these magazines are the best way to keep up with current trends and style ideas. These are just a few of the many hair style magazines and black hair magazines available, but they are top of the line.

Whether you're a professional or someone just looking for a cool new style, you cannot go wrong with hair style magazines. And finally, the best news is that you can get most of them at heavily discounted prices. For further details check my website at http://www.great-hairstyles.com/magazine.html

Some faces are round, some are thin, some are soft, and some are angular.Believe it or not, a hairstyle can help to accentuate or draw away from certain facial characteristics.
